A lawyer with over nineteen years experience in the Energy Industry, Commercial Transactions, Corporate Practice, Regulatory Compliance, Legal Advisory Services, Project Finance, Localization, Joint Ventures and Business Development. 

Ozim graduated from the University of Nigeria in 1998. She was called to the Nigerian Bar in October 2000, and admitted as a Solicitor of England & Wales in 2011. She also obtained LLM in Energy Law & Policy and MBA in International Business Transactions (2007/2008) from the Centre for Energy, Mineral Law and Policy, University of Dundee, Scotland.

She started her career in 2000 with Serenity Legal Union & Partners Port Harcourt, and also worked with the Aelex Legal Practitioners Lagos from January 2009 to October 2010

Between 2003 and 2006, she also worked as the Legal Advisor/Company Secretary for Oildata Wireline Services Port Harcourt, a subsidiary of Oildata Logging Services Houston. Her main area of focus besides legal advisory services was business development, Marginal Field Opportunities, and Joint-Ventures. 

She joined GE Oil & Gas in November 2010, as the SSA Regional Counsel. In this role, she supported commercial operations, growth opportunities/market entry, Business Development, Joint-Venture, Localization Initiatives, Regulatory Compliance, Company Secretarial, Labour & Employment matters, and general legal advisory.

With the merger of GE Oil & Gas with Baker Hughes to form BHGE in 2017, Ozim covered East Africa and Equatorial Guinea as the Geomarket Counsel with the overall responsibility for BHGE’s legal and compliance in the region, including supporting the growth and business development across the full stream value chain for BHGE.

Effective January 2020, Ozim became the Executive General Counsel of GE Gas Power Business in Africa. She is based in Accra Ghana, and has the overall responsibility for legal and compliance for the GE Gas Power business in Sub-Saharan Africa. She is also the General Counsel for GE Africa, responsible for managing GE’s risk and brand across the various business in SSA.
