I have more than 20 years of experience in various roles, mainly in development finance, project and structured finance and impact investing within funds, financial institutions, and advisory firms.

As the MD of The Facility for Energy Inclusion (FEI), I am leading FEI, a dedicated debt fund for small-scale Independent Power Producers (IPPs), mini-grids and captive power projects in Africa (

Until recently, as the MD of EMFin I have been advising a number of leading institutions (WBG, UN ECA, DFID) on private sector investments in infrastructure, mainly energy, in Africa. In previous roles, I successfully structured and closed a number of transactions providing capital to impact investments in emerging markets and infrastructure projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.  In addition, I successfully raised capital from donor countries and debt financing from commercial banks and development finance institutions (DFIs).

Over the past 15 years I have Led and/or was involved in funding of more than 70 assets in Emerging Markets, over USD1.2 billion of principal investments across 26 countries and 7 sectors; of which over 50 were in Africa (circa USD1 billion).

Seasoned investor in the energy sector where I led and/or was involved in funding of 21 power assets in Sub-Saharan Africa across a range of technologies (gas, solar, hydro, HFO), a number of which were the first IPPs in their respective countries.

Additional notable experience and activities include a strong academic background in economics and finance, as well as serving as a guest speaker on project and infrastructure finance at the London Business School Executive MBA and Executive Education programs.
